Compost Collections Driver - Full-Time

Black Bear Composting is a green business focused on collecting and composting food scraps, yard trimmings and other compostables. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about recycling, composting, the environment and local agriculture. We're a small company so we all share the responsibilities of collecting materials from our customers, processing them at our outdoor facility in Crimora and delivering the finished product. This is an outdoor, all-weather, year-round business.

Job Specifics:

  • Full-time position, working daytime Monday-Friday
  • Driving a 16' truck, collecting wheeled carts of potentially heavy materials
  • Servicing commercial accounts (businesses, schools, organizations) and residential subscribers
  • Delivering finished compost in small quantities
  • Inspecting, weighing and processing of inbound materials
  • Washing carts

Candidate Requirements:

  • A clean driving record. CDL not required, but great if you have one.
  • Commitment to safety of self and others
  • Ability to use GPS for navigation
  • Managing potentially heavy wheeled-carts
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Works well individually and as part of a team
  • Enjoys hands-on work for a great cause

Pay and Benefits:

  • Starting pay is $16/hr ($17/hr with CDL B)
